This Week's Football Birthdays: April 18th-24th

A number of big football stars celebrate their birthday this week. But who's celebrating and how old will they be?

This post shows you which top footballers have their birthday in the next 7 days.

Donny Van De Beek (25)

When your name regularly trends with the hashtag #FreeDonny, you know your big money transfer hasn't worked out.

After struggling for game time at Man United, Donny Van De Beek now finds himself in a relegation battle on loan at Everton. But it isn't all doom and gloom.

Donny's former Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag is heavily linked with the United job. So he could still have an impact at the Red Devils yet. At just 25 this Monday, he's still got time on his side.

Divock Origi (27)

Liverpool's Divock Origi must be one of the greatest squad players of all time.

His goals from the bench have been vital in Liverpool's recent success at home and in Europe. And when he's been called on to start, boy has he delivered - his two goals against Barcelona in 2019 being a case in point.

Despite his heroics, you could still argue that Origi's best years are still ahead of him. After all, he's only 27 on Monday and hasn't yet been a regular starter at the top level.

Origi's Liverpool contract is up this summer and there are a host of potential suitors from Europe's elite. A move to Serie A giants AC Milan looks most likely at the moment. So we could be seeing a lot more from the Belgian hitman.

Nick Pope (30)

Nick Pope has been one of the Premier League's most consistent keepers for a long time now. Which has given him a solid grip on the space in England's squad as reserve goalie.

Pope's heroics are on display every week at relegation threatened Burnley. And if the Clarets do finally drop down this year, you wouldn't be surprised if a Premier League side swooped for him.

Pope is 30 on Tuesday and should still have a lot of prime years left in the tank.

Mikel Oyarzabal (25)

Mikel Oyarzabal has quietly become a key part of Luis Enrique's revived Spain squad. And with a World Cup on the horizon, this could be a huge year for the Real Sociedad winger.

Oyarzabal has popped up with big goals at Euro 2020, the Olympics, and the Nations League final in recent months. Which should guarantee his place on the plane for the World Cup finals.

But he isn't just a hit on the international scene. Oyarzabal has a double figure goal tally in La Liga for each of the past 4 seasons. With only one more goal needed this season to make it five.

Oyarzabal is 25 on Thursday and won't need to buy a drink ever again if he helps Spain to glory in Qatar.

David Luiz (35)

Ah, David Luiz. The player with the Sideshow Bob haircut who was never too far away from drama. How the Premier League misses you.

Joking aside, Luiz has enjoyed a tremendous career at many of the world's biggest clubs. With a CV that includes stints at Benfica, Chelsea (twice), PSG, Arsenal, and Brazilian giants Flamengo.

This brought him a huge trophy haul featuring the Premier League, the Champions League, and two Europa Leagues. And at 35 on Friday, he could still have a few more in the tank.

Kaka (40)

As his famous tee shirt always said, Kaka belongs to Jesus. But for a few glorious years in the 2000's, European football belonged to Kaka.

The Brazilian was an absolute joy to watch at AC Milan. As his attacking flair complimented the Rossoneri's Italian core and led them to glory in the Champions League.

His big move to Real Madrid didn't quite have the impact everybody hoped it would. Yet fans around the world still have wonderful memories of Kaka in his prime. Kaka turns 40 on Saturday and is sure to get a lot of lovely messages.
